Day 4 - Kites

These lessons can be used for SS or Math or Science.

The following article explains the history of Kites in Nepal.

Read the following article:

Procedure:

1. Show Photo gallery slides discussion to follow. Questions are... what did you notice, what surprised you, what do you want to learn more about? Record answers.

2. Make simple kites and fly them. Upon returning to the classroom, have a discussion. What worked, what didn't, how might you change your kite to make it fly better?

3. Here is where I would discuss, very limited, the physics if why a kite is able to fly. The website National Kite month has a great explaination of why kites fly. (see additional resources)
