Literature of the Himalayas

is as varied and unique as the people and wildlife.

Folktales have been used for instruction,

enjoyment and education for centuries

and have a strong tradition in Southeast Asian countries.

The Jataka tales from India have had a long tradition of

being verbally passed down from generation to generation.

The earliest recorded stories were written about 300 C.E.in Pali and later were translated

to the Hindic Lanuguage. They are meant to teach moral values and religous traditions.

Our journey further takes us to The Silk Road

The Great Silk Road is the name given to the system of caravan trade

routes that lasted for centuries and linked the East and West.

It was one of the most important achievements in the history

of the world.

"...these days

I am always climbing mountains

in my dreams,

always climbing mountains

in my dreams"
