The intention of this website is to explore my interests in geography
and environmental issues in relation to the information I obtained
through the NEH Institute on the Cultures and Religions of the Himalayas.
I will provide teachers with general lesson plans, group projects,
helpful sites, and educational resources for the purpose of teaching
junior high students on the Himalayan region.

Environmental Woes:
The majestic Himalayas are surprisingly vulnerable to both natural
processes and man-made
ones. This link will help students
realize that conservation efforts need to be implemented in order
to save ecosystems. Landslides and overgrazing are common problems
that arise in the Himalayan region.
|
Jataka Tales:
Delightful fables, drawn from legends of the former
lives of the Buddha, tell of acts of sacrifice inspired by the noble
example of others. These tales provide lessons that convey moral
behavior essential in anyones life.
