Introduction Welcome to this interdisciplinary unit of study designed to cover a variety of ways students acquire knowledge and communicate through looking, seeing, reading, writing, critical thinking, and creating works of art through the study of Himalayan history and art. The lessons in this unit are designed to help students become aware of the global connections that can be identified through works of art. By taking a closer look at art through these strategies, students will learn to have a greater appreciation of global diversity and unity through the study of human creativity. Educators may use the entire unit which has been designed to help students progress through a path of awareness to the development of their own creative expressions. Alternately, educators may use any part of this study to enhance and enrich their own instructional methods. I will greatly appreciate any comments or feedback as well as the sharing of how you have utilized the contents of this study. We are each unique, yet we are ONE. Terresa M. Fagan |
