LESSON SIX - Using Critical Thinking Strategies to Understand Works of Art

OBJECTIVE: Students view the film Lost Arts of the Himalayas and complete five critical thinking frameworks about the content. See Resources page for source of film. selections.

       Expect to spend at least five days to complete this lesson.
       *Day one - Students view the film.
       *Day two - With teacher guidance, students will complete the following critical thinking          frameworks: Cause and Effect, Interrelated Sequence of Events,          Problem/Solution, Compare and Contrast, and Dialogue/Perspective.
       *Day three - Students write a formal essay using one of the critical thinking frameworks as their
         outline.
       *Days four and five - Students read their essays to the class.
