Targeted Skills and Knowledge

This unit focuses on lower- and higher-level literacy skills. 

Targeted grammatical structures:

  1. 随着…〔的发展 / 变化 / 改变 / 进步…〕in conjunction with…. [some kind of change]
  2. 之 is a classical Chinese word that survives in certain constructions and literary turns of phrase; the function is like the modern 的.[千里之外;无价之宝] It can also function as a pronominal object in classical Chinese, rather like the English “it.” [总而言之;随之而来]
  3. 或A或B either A or B
  4. Subj. 经得起/经不起…的诱惑 can/cannot stand the temptation of…
  5. Subj. 对NP 持…..的态度 hold/have [a certain kind of view, etc.]
  6. Subj. 对 (…的说法/看法/做法)不以为然 feel [that something] is not right (not-take-to be-so)
  7. 因此 for this reason
  8. 此外besides, in addition, moreover
  9. Subj.因为…而… Because…and then VP…
  10. 反正…… anyway; in any case; under whatever circumstances(used in oral context)
  11. 尽管…..,然而…… although…
  12. 凡是…都…anyone who / anything that;every …, any…, all …
