Devotional Music of Nepal

Newar Stupa

Devotional Music of Nepal is very interesting to listen to. Due to geography and migration patterns, there are many similarities between Nepali Music and Indian Music. This can confuse the listener, as while India is considered the birthplace of the Buddha, it is largely a Hindu nation today. Here are a number of Nepali songs from the Bhuddist Devotional musical tradition. Each track has something interesting to notice. Some use the guitar, some have very "Indian-sounding" violin playing, a couple have very Western-sounding forms and melodies.
