About the Author

Buddhism; History and Practice in the Himalayas

The purpose of this course is to expose upperclass level students to Buddhism and the Himalayan region through an initial introduction to Buddhist history, and a closer look at the literature and art of this region.
The course is structured to take place over five consecutive days with daily lectures and discussions, nightly reading and journal responses, in-class film viewing and an off-campus museum visit. The course culminates with an essay assignment designed to encourage the application of core concepts encountered in the course.
