Unit Overview

The students in your Chinese class received invitations to be pen pals with the students in a 7th grade class in Chengdu, China.  Wang Jiajia in China wrote her first letter to you introducing herself.  You will read her letter and write a letter to tell her about yourself and respond to her questions.

Objectives

At the end of this unit, 7th-grade students will be able to:

1. Recognize some characters and words to describe body parts, interests, hobbies and a person’s look.
2. Use in 形容词叠词 and 量词 to describe one’s appearance.
3. Comprehend a letter from a pen pal in China, the content of which describes one’s appearance, hobbies and interests.
4. Write a letter to the pen pal introducing yourself.       
5. Respond to the questions in the letter, demonstrating one’s comprehension of the letter.
